Prepare a video shoot

Agree the message and distribution first, then scenes and logistics. Applicable to mobile filming and video production.

  1. Message. Write what the viewer should understand and the logical next action in one sentence.
  2. Versions. Specify channels, orientation, language, subtitles and duration before filming.
  3. Scenes. List the frame, action, line, product and props. Separate required scenes from optional ones.
  4. Preparation. Check location, noise, light, clothing, access and participants. Assign one decision-maker.
  5. On-set check. Check sound, brand pronunciation, product details and required scenes before wrapping.
  6. Edit and delivery. Agree editing references, appropriately licensed music, titles, revision process and final versions.

Questions to align on before starting

  1. Who is the video for, and what message should the viewer understand?
  2. Where will it be published: which platforms, orientations, languages and versions?
  3. Which scenes, people, products, locations and source materials need filming or preparation?
  4. Which editing, sound, graphics and subtitles are needed; who agrees the video count, timing and revisions?

These questions help prepare a discussion; they are not a personalised audit or estimate. Scope, timing and cost are agreed after the brief.

Answers before starting
How is a mobile videographer different from a videographer?
A mobile videographer shoots on a smartphone, which suits native vertical content. A videographer works with a professional camera when the task requires different optics, lighting or a more complex production. We choose the format for the task and document the scope in the estimate.
How does hourly filming from 40 600 KZT/hour differ from the 92 800 KZT Reels package?
40 600 KZT/hour, VAT included, is the starting price for hourly mobile filming with editing included according to the agreed plan. 92 800 KZT, VAT included, is the starting price for a separate Reels production package. The number of clips, editing, versions, revisions and timeline are agreed after the brief and listed in the estimate.
How many clips will one shoot produce?
We calculate the quantity from the scripts, scenes and locations, people on camera and post-production complexity. We document the exact number of finished clips before the start.
What should be prepared for the shoot?
The usual inputs are access to the location, the product, approved people on camera and brand materials. Before filming, we prepare a checklist and agree on scenes, props and the required equipment kit.
